Hi all!

10 months ago I was diagnosed with type 2 and I had a 9.2% A1C and a fasting level of 168. My liver was messed up and also my cholesterol wasnt perfect (but it wasnt terrible) and my thyroid was super high.

After getting fit and changing my diet dramatically (also taking ozempic) I did a blood test 3 months later and it was 5.4%.

I was on gliclazide for the first 3 weeks after diagnosis but then my blood sugar came down pretty fast so they took me off it and just kept me on ozempic (min dose)

I did a blood test yesteday- 10 months after diagnosis- and there is literally no sign I ever got diagnosed. Fasting was 74, A1C was 5.2%, thyroid, liver, cholesterol all completely perfect.

The last 3 months I have been a LOT less restrictive, eating a pastry once a week, eating rice (big trigger for me before) eating carbs whenever I want. The only difference really is that I exercise everyday, weights and walking and sqauts but nothing insane. I also completely cut out crisps (my kryptonite) and most of my carbs are wholegrain (but not rice because brown rice sucks lol!)

Anyway...I am writing this because it IS possible to improve without super insane changes, I know it doesnt work for everyone but I like to post positive stories as I was SO scared 10 months ago.

Now my walks have become a wonderful part of life, I have some little muscles from the weights so my arms look good in a tank top and Ive lost 23kg

I hope this post helps someone to feel less afraid of the future!
