this afternoon I encountered an old Korean man walking with his grandson, who apprared to be around 4 or 5. the older gentleman spoke English pretty well but was burdened with a heavy duffle bag and a rolling suitcase. even the child had a heavy backpack. I helped them reach Washington Park and was unable to coax an explanation from them at their situation - he said he was watching his grandson while his daughter “recovered”. I dont know if they have shelter or not. They were clean and had nice clothing and it but my conscience is burdened that I could have gotten them more help. If anyone sees them downtown or in the OTR/ Washington Park area, please consider checking on them.

I just built a new ships ladder for access to our treehouse. I made it out of pressure treated 2x12 because the feet contact the ground. however, the stringers are also the handrails in this design and the wood was straight from Home Depot. I’m wondering if it’s safe for my kids to put their hands on. I do plan on painting it once it dries further but wasn’t sure what the standard was for this sort of thing
