Still fairly new to Draw Steel, been running the Delian Tomb as a low-prep fortnightly campaign to try out the system and as an alternative to my long-running weekly 5e campaign. Mostly enjoying, though I find the amount to keep track of as a director somewhat daunting. My players are just about to take the fight to Queen Bargnot at Castle Andreas.

In comparison to other systems I've played, Draw Steel's tactical nature seems much more sensitive to the number of players. I started with 7 (1 as an occasional player) and we're now down to 5, but on any given week we're more likely to have 3 or 4 than a full house. It makes prep deeply frustrating, adjusting every encounter before the session, pulling out varying numbers of minis, making sure everyone's victories are equalised, checking who has what retainer and so forth.

Does anyone else have this problem, or ideas to make things run more smoothly?
