For the first time, I'm experiencing side effects with esomeprazole.

Hello everyone,

Let me explain the situation : I'm 41 years old and for many years I've experienced occasional acid reflux. When it happens, I take omeprazole (or esomeprazole) and the reflux disappears very quickly.

But this time, for the first time, the omeprazole didn't work. I went to see the doctor who prescribed esomeprazole to take twice a day, plus Gaviscon.

So yes, the reflux calmed down, but I became severely constipated. I decided to stop taking everything, but of course, the reflux came back. I constantly have a feeling of a lump in my throat, difficulty burping, etc.

I'm taking Maalox tablets, but so far, it's not doing much. I have an appointment in three weeks with a gastroenterologist to get a date for an endoscopy.

Are any of you no longer able to tolerate omeprazole, and what are you doing about it ?

Thanks 😄

Hello everyone,

I'm 41 years old and I've had hypopituitarism since I was 5. I've been on medication all this time with a daily injection (Norditropin).

Two weeks ago, I saw the doctor who treats me at the hospital for this problem. He told me that a new treatment has just been released, allowing me to have one injection per week instead of one per day.

I'm obviously interested in this new treatment. I won't be able to get it right away; I have to have some tests this summer (I go to a day hospital every two years, and this year marks my second year) and then see my doctor again.

I don't know the name of the medication. I should mention that I'm in France.

Have any of you in my situation heard of this ?
