For some context I’m an ill be an incoming junior (semi target) in college next year. I did a consulting related internship at a startup my freshman year summer and this summer I’ll be interning at a credit union and I’ll also be doing some consulting for a startup on the side. On top of that I’m considering doing a technical project involving payments or credit but it will be a significant time investment. I’m doing it to learn because the times are changing but how much of a value add is it on the resume? Does it matter at all for consulting related roles or in traditional finance?
I’m an incoming junior in college and while I’m fine career and gpa wise I realize an important part of college is meeting people and making friends in similar fields as you. I’m not in any business frats or any competitive business clubs but I do want to meet more people pursing business careers. How do I go about that? I still have two years left so plenty of time but it’s something I actively want to do next semester
I’m currently in college and I was looking for resume advice. As a student how much does tailoring your resume matter. While I do have an internship now, my search was largely unsuccessful and I only got two interviews total (one f100 and one startup) even though I think my resume was pretty good and I got it reviewed by over 20 people.i guess my question is how much does direction matter on your resume as a college student, I think one of the reasons I got so few interviews was that my experiences were super scattered so recruiters didn’t know what I wanted to do or what I was good at. I was told that companies look for varied experiences but how true is that
I’m currently a sophomore in college and I wasn’t able to land any internships for this summer. Im looking for consulting or finance related internships and I was wondering what the best method to find these startups are? Tech startups are pretty easy to find but finding finance related startups is really hard. Any advice? If it helps I’m based in SF, so there’s a big startup scene, but I don’t know how to get involved.
I’m going to try recruit for a consulting internship next year at one of the big 4 and I was wondering if a 3.6 would get me past the initial resume screen. I’m also a math major so I was wondering if there’s more leeway in regards to gpa for stem majors? The rest of my profile is pretty strong it’s just the gpa. Give it to me straight I want to be realistic about my chances🙏
How hard is getting a consulting internship at firms like EY and Pwc from UT? I feel like some people say it’s really easy and others say it’s really hard, just trying to get a reality check before junior year recruiting. Any advice is welcome too🙏
I’m almost a junior now and I was never able to get into one of those competitive finance or consulting clubs. How much does that affect recruiting? I’m the president of a non business related org and am a part of some other clubs but I wish I tried harder getting into these finance related clubs.
I’m about to enter my junior year of college and I want to pursue consulting. I’m a math major at a semi target and I got kind of lucky because I had no idea about what I wanted to do till recently but I had a consulting internship at a startup last summer and I have a finance related internship at another startup this summer. Most of the consulting related positions open at the end of July or start of August and I want to maximize my chances of getting an interview. I’m just looking for some guidance about what to do this summer to land that internship, any advice is welcome.
For some context I’m a math major minoring in business and Econ. I want to work in either consulting or commercial banking (very different I know) and I was wondering if any of yall made it to these roles and if so, how?
