Hi everyone,

I just got my 3h glucose test results, after failing the 1h and I’m a bit confused about the results/nurse interpretation

My results in the app show:

Fasting: 80 (normal)

1 hour: 187 (cutoff 180)

2 hour: 206 (cutoff 140)

3 hour: 99 (cutoff 115)

So it looks like both the 1h and 2h values are above the lab reference limits.

But my nurse responded in the app saying:

“It looks like you had one abnormal value, the 2 hour result was 206 which is elevated. The other three values were within normal limits for pregnancy.”

From what I understand, gestational diabetes is usually diagnosed if 2 or more values are abnormal, so I’m confused why the 1h value (187 > 180) isn’t being counted.

Has anyone had a situation where:

-the app flags multiple values as high, but

the provider only considers one abnormal?

-are the app “cutoffs” different from the diagnostic criteria they actually use?

I also already have chronic hypertension, and I’m currently 31 weeks pregnant, so I think I’m just spiraling a bit about the possibility of having another complication on top of that.

Just trying to understand, not self-diagnosing... thank you
