Hello all! I am a 2nd year student in a small ABA program with an on-campus clinic where we are able to practice the role of a BCBA under supervision from the BCBA's who supervise/lead the program.

I wanted to get BCBA opinions on a program I wrote to target early word identification/discrimination skills for a client I work with. There are different opinions within my cohort and supervisors on the correctness of these procedures.

Specifically I would like to hear opinions on:

  1. Combining a progressive time delay and error correction procedures.

  2. Delivering a token for correct independent responding following error correction as outline in the program.

  3. Any other critiques people might have for this program

My rationale for the delivering of a token in the EC procedure is that this client has some minorly challenging behaviors associated with extended work sessions, and that this will help maintain engagement/behavioral momentum. I understand this isn't standard practice, but hope that since reinforcement is smaller in EC, that it will still effectively teach the desired skill. I appreciate any and all feedback!
