CNO non-practicing class
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice regarding the Non-Practising Class with the CNO. I’m currently an ICU nurse and will be heading to the U.S. on a 12-month contract In July. Because I won’t be practicing in Ontario during that time, I’m trying to decide whether I should apply for the Non-Practicing Class.
Do you have to apply for the non-practicing class? I’d assume so because when it comes to renewal in December, we have to disclose our work hours etc.
Another concern I have is flexibility if I decide to extend my contract beyond 12 months, I don’t want to put myself in a position where I would need to reapply or reinstate my license is there a max for how long you can be in the non-practicing class?
Any guidance or personal experience would be greatly appreciated.
