Something interesting is happening with small businesses in Kenya

I’ve been spending the last few weeks researching how small businesses grow in Kenya and honestly I think a lot of people are overlooking how powerful local communities can be.
There are so many:
talented business owners
students with side hustles
small shops
food vendors
creatives
barbers
online sellers
that already have customers… but can’t grow because traditional funding is almost impossible to access.
I’m curious how people here think small businesses should raise money locally without relying on banks or wealthy relatives.
If you owned a business and your customers/community could help you grow in small amounts, would people actually participate?
Or would trust become the biggest problem?
Interested to hear real opinions from people actually living/building in Kenya.
