Hi. Can someone with the same explorer please tell me how your AC operates? For example, with AC On, how does the cooling fan cycle? And how does the compressor clutch cycle? Also, what is the high side pressure range? You have to have the version with fixed displacement compressor like mine.

So mine is a 2015 with rear AC and with, what I think, is a fixed displacement compressor because it has no electrical connector in the back of it. It has a clutch.

Recently I serviced the whole system. Installed new compressor, new TXV valves (front and rear), and new condenser. I also flushed all hoses. Refilled with proper amount of PAG oil and R134a refrigerant (41oz).

In the cabin the AC works great. Cools really good. But I suspect the system does not operate properly. The compressor clutch is always engaged. It is not stuck because when I turn off the AC it disengages. Most cars usually cycle the clutch. Other thing is, the high side pressure cycles between about 200 and 350PSI. It climbs to 350, then cooling fan kicks in and it drops to about 200. When fan turns off it climbs back to 350 and repeats. That seems too high.
