Instagram Reel ad/boost shows only static thumbnail with random music instead of playing the Reel — how to fix?
I’m trying to promote an existing Instagram Reel. My goal is for people to see the actual Reel playing, and for views/engagement to go to the original Reel. But when I boost it, or even try Ads Manager, the ad appears as a static thumbnail/image with random background music instead of the video playing like a normal Reel. The boost option used to work completely fine seven months ago. Has anyone had this problem? Is there a setting to force Meta to use the actual Reel video, not the thumbnail?
