I recently received my ancestry results and I’m so going to need therapy.
My father has always told two very distinct stories about who his father is. For numerous years my father, his family and his friends had said that “T” was my dad’s father. Up until the birth of my youngest sister I believed that to be true (my sister and I are 13 years apart.) The issue is that T’s daughter “J” is my youngest sister’s mom. Meaning that my allegedly my father would have had a child with his half sister. Of course everyone absolutely lost their minds over the literal crime they committed. Well come to find out (allegedly) “T” isn’t my father’s real dad he and his wife “L” simply fostered my dad because my dad had an incredibly rough life.
Several years ago my father confessed to me that he was the product of SA and I*****T and that his father was in fact his uncle. That in and of itself was challenging to hear but as I got older more details were revealed about this relative and I felt certain that this information was true.
Well everyone I took a dna test and received the results about two days ago. I share multiple common ancestors with my step mother as well as numerous cousins, I didn’t immediately jump to conclusions instead I’ve spent the last two days doing as much research as I can.
I believe I found my grandfather. My BIOLOGICAL grandfather “T”
I’ve talked to several people who I trust to keep things to themselves for now but we all believe that my father’s 1/2 cousin(my cousin 1x removed) being her dad’s nephew is a dead give away(there are only two sons in my grandfathers family one of them being my great half uncle)
While I’m not 100% certain that makes “t” my dads father I believe that he is and I know that my step mother(my aunt) and my father knew this long before they ended up together. As a child I called her aunt J and her siblings aunt/uncle, WE WERE RAISED TOGETHER. They’ve remained unmarried their entire relationship, my sister has her mothers last name, my father refused a paternity test, my step mother immediately had her tubes tied, they have an incredibly Rocky relationship, they act extremely suspicious about all legal matters etc etc.
I don’t want to believe this at all and I have been trying to prove that they’re not half siblings for hours, but I just can’t.
