Hi, I'm living in an old yurt that has a lot of deferred maintenance. I went to open up the windows for the first time and found the majority of the clips and straps that secure the flaps when rolled up are broken or missing. At first I was thinking I'd just replace all of the old parts but in order to roll up the window covers I have to get up on a ladder. Now I'm wondering if I can make the flaps into roman shades and be able to open them with a pull string. Has anyone tried this? Any other good ideas about making it easier to open and close the weather flaps on the outside when you don't have a deck that goes around the outside?
