Y’all I’m officially in! The process was interesting to say the least. When I entered Juarez I didn’t even know I was in Mexico because the border was non-existent, no visa, no passport needed nothing. Then trying to get back to El Paso was insane because it was instantly Mexico concrete jungle, crazy winding roads that are narrow and people asking you for money tapping on your car and there was absolutely no signal. Not phone nor internet or GPS. My Spanish saved me because I would ask security guards how to make my way back.
When I got back, it was 3 lanes of cars, very long and when I got there, they took my car for canine unit to sniff, they patted me down hard, made me stand in a corner for awhile. They told me that they don’t process there and what was I doing there and I explained that Canadians can process at the border with TN1. Mexicans have TN2 and they need to go to the consulate. They debated that for a good long while and I just stood my ground the whole time. They detained me in a room and interrogated me about everything. But once they were satisfied, they barely looked at the papers. Processing was also cheaper by 50% which was nice. I guess they never see Canadians come to the Mexico border because holy smokes that was scary. But everything passed and I’m back in El Paso. I was gonna have an authentic taco in Juarez but immediately no. Nope! 😭😬😂
TL;DR border officials interrogation of drugs and other illegal activities was strict. Paperwork scrutiny not at all. Didn’t even ask for my original docs or interview me about my job or anything else.
How does it look for a September California wedding at a lakeside wedding? Any inputs on what the vibe looks like? Does it look cheap? Simple? Old fashioned? I am going to hem the dress. Just waiting for a closer date to the wedding so that I can tailor better.
