This morning I had an appointment to visit a customer. Upon walking up it looked like they had a remodel going on, I walked in to see if I could check in and/or find my contact and as I was walking through, it started to feel toxic and I became worried and turned around and left, called my customer to ask where he was and what was going on? He was upset I was able to go in saying the company was doing a mold remediation and they should have locked the door and had signage, but there wasn’t any visible signage so I had no clue. I have reported this and the guy doing the job (who had been sitting in his van with his co worker on their phones not paying attention) mentioned it had been contained, I asked if that meant it was safe to walk through it like I did without ppe, he said no. My customer advised me to go straight home, dispose of my clothes, take a good shower so I called my boss and did so.

My question is this: now that I have showered and am clean, how should I protect myself when disposing of my soiled clothes and contaminated car and personal affects inside?

I asked for a call back from the owner of the remediation company for instructions and also to know what kind of toxins I may have been exposed to but no call back.

So I left everything in my car as it was in my garage until I know what to do? Help.

I know spores are invisible so I am worried. Should I replace my air filter in my car too? Thank you so much for any help. I’ve been so anxious!
