I built my own Claude-powered Telegram bot from scratch in Python. It has conversation memory, Gmail monitoring, and authorized-sender restrictions so only approved users can interact with it. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, but looking online I’ve seen a lot of success and more stuff being done with a clawdbot. I was wondering tho if it worth building an OpenClaw setup on top of what I already have, or does my custom bot cover enough that it’s not necessary? Has anyone made the switch from a homemade bot to OpenClaw, and was it worth it? Or is the value of OpenClaw mainly for people who aren’t already running their own setup?
