when do labels stop describing us and start becoming us?

been thinking a lot about how labels like “the smart one,” “the anxious one,” “the strong one” slowly seep into our identity.

do they help us understand ourselves, or quietly put us in a box?

i’m a psychology student exploring this through a short study on identity labelling and self-concept clarity among youth, and i’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts on this.

if you’d like to contribute to the study too, here’s the survey link below. takes 3-5 mins, and you’ll get personalized feedback/results as well.
