Anyone know of The Old Club in MI on Harsens Island?
This will be my 3rd summer doing seasonal work and I'm trying to find my forever home. (Harder than I thought it would be) 2 summers ago I worked at a smaller hotel on Mackinac Island and 80% loved it, great housing, wonderful Island, just low pay. Last year I served on Put-in-Bay and absolutely hated it. The owners were crazy/racist to some of their over seas hires, housing was disgusting and old, the island was just a huge frat party, and the restaurant was not busy at all. I was making more money working at Buffalo Wild Wings the winter before back home. 😒
This year I found a serving job at The Old Club on Harsens island in MI, it's a member's only yacht club. I'm wondering if anyone has worked there or know anything about it. I don't see any mention of them on here or really anywhere, which could be a good or bad thing. Has anyone ever worked at a private club? I haven't and it worries me a little on how busy it will really be. I've been serving pretty much 13 years, I'm 43 years old, I'm hoping to find a place that I can make decent money and be a good fit. Aren't we all though? 😂
Any insight on this particular place or working for a private yacht club would be helpful. Good luck this summer!
