I am filing my first va claim. I am filing for chronic bilateral hip pain. It is currently in evidence gathering and has been for about 9 days. I am curious about how long this process has been taking people lately.

I also heard about people needing a C&P. How do I know if I need to schedule? To I just schedule one in case?

Currently I experience chronic bilateral hip and some back pain from the hips. I have had 3 surgeries in the last 5 years and will be having another hip surgery this fall most likely. I’m currently in the national guard and I have a desire to stay in long term. Am I at risk for being med boarded? The doctor and physical therapist believe that I will get back to being able to complete the AFT without pain. I currently have a temporary profile. What are my odds? I did get an mri for my hips while on base during training. (Do I need to tell them to gather that information?)

Any advice about what I should and shouldn’t say? Please help me out. I’ve put this off for years in fear of being kicked out. But I am the point I feel I should be compensated for having the pain in my hips that was caused during a training event. I am 28 year old female with good overall health. Decent PT scores. I’m very determined and I never give up. I even did training exercising on crutches throughout the years because I truly love what I do. I’m just begging for some help here. Thank you in advance!
