My last storm we were severely unprepared the news made it seem like we wouldn’t lose power it was just a tropical storm but electricity was out for a week so now my checklist looks different
Before severe weather hits, I do a quick setup

Charge all devices (phones, flashlights, batteries)
Fill up my car with gas
Set my fridge/freezer to the coldest setting to preserve food longer

Checklist
My go-to checklist includes:

Water (at least 1 gallon per person per day)
Non-perishable food (can foods, tuna, snacks that don’t need to be cold
Flashlights + extra batteries
Power banks
Cash
dont forget can opener
