Looking for some help!
My baby is 5 weeks old and has been EBF. We’ve tried a few bottles with expressed BM and he takes the bottle well. I’d like to pump at least once a day so my husband can have the experience and bonding time of feeding our LO but I’m confused about pumping. My LC told me to pump in the morning after his first feed because that’s when breast milk production is highest but then another LC told me to only give AM milk in the AM and PM milk in the PM. If I pump in the evening, I obviously don’t get as much milk as if I pumped in the morning. My husband works all day so he would be giving our son a bottle in the evening. Should I be pumping right before my husband gives our LO a bottle so that it’s PM milk? How do I create a freezer stash if I’m only pumping and then giving that milk right to my husband to give to our LO?
