Wondering if anyone might have any insight on what could have stung me in Paris last week. I was inside a fruit stand when a very tiny bug, maybe 2-3x the size of a fruit fly in the US, stung me in the arm. I didn’t pay a ton of attention in the moment but the wings were grayish and there wasn’t a big enough body for me to note its color (unlike a wasp or honeybee). It hurt really bad, just like a bee sting. The bug died upon stinging and the stinger had to be removed.

It all seemed like typical bee sting stuff but it’s been days and it’s still irritating me, which isn’t my usual experience of bee stings. It’s red, but not too raised, and itchy. If anything touches it, it really itches. Which is unfortunate because I’m back in the US now and it’s cold.

I doubt there’s much I can do about it and I’m not terribly concerned, but I am curious if anyone might know what may have stung me.
