[Gremlins] Who attacked first: Stripe and the gremlins, or Billy’s mother?
In the kitchen scene from Gremlins, Billy’s mother kills several gremlins after discovering them inside her house.
Ethically speaking, who initiated the violence first? Did Stripe and the other gremlins already count as aggressors because they had invaded the home, sabotaged things, and posed a threat? Or is Billy’s mother the first one to use lethal force in that specific confrontation?
Was the kitchen massacre legitimate self-defense, excessive force, or something in between?
