Thyroid and BP

Has anyone had an issue with BP due to Hypthyroidism. I have had hypertension for about 40 years. 25 years ago I had thyroid cancer and had my thyroid removed. I have been on levothyroxine for 25 years. I have never had a problem with the both of them until recently. I inadvertently took my thyroid meds with calcium. That’s a big no no. The result was hypothyroidism. I went to the dentist for a cleaning and they took my blood pressure. It was 170/100. I immediately contacted my doctor and she told me to double up on my valsartan. I take one in the morning and then one in the evening. After doing google searching, I found out about the problem with taking calcium with thyroid medication. My doctor confirmed that it was most likely the cause of my elevated blood pressure. I stopped taking the calcium and I have been taking the two doses of valsartan. It has been a few days and my BP is slowing coming down, albeit still on the high side at 156/94. Anyone relate to this?????? Just looking for info on how long this will take to get back to normal BP. My advice…….always check the interaction between medication and supplements.
