I want to start writing, could you give me some advice?

How did you start writing stories (or fanfiction, for that matter)? Did you just plot out a plot and write? I understand structure and know enough theory to write a single page, but in practice, nothing works. I sit down and can't get it done. I think maybe I just don't have the talent. (I don't know how to write any scenes. Do you just describe a character's actions? "He stood up, he walked, he grabbed smth.")

What resources would you recommend for learning to write? Or should writing really not be that difficult?
