Okay so picture this - You open up Spotify just to jam to something relaxing for background music right? You decide to put some Laufey songs because they always hit, and when you do… they sound different…?
Please please PLEASE tell me I’m not the only one who noticed how her songs changed. I’m not sure if she changed all her songs because I didn’t listen to all her albums and songs - but I did listen to a few known ones like “Lover girl” and “Bored”. Now I can’t remember the exact day these songs sounded different, but as of I wanna say at least 2 months ago, they sounded different completely different. How do I know? Well for starters, I used to listen to “Bored” almost every single day and passing moment, so when one day I opens Spotify and played it, boy was I confused on why it sounded different. A prime example for this just so you guys know that I’m not going crazy is how “Lover girl” changed. It’s really obvious by the change in beat and the way she sings, as the old one was a constant vocal line that you can follow - compared to the changed one now where you can hear the little pause in each word she sings like a pop if you get what I mean. “Bored” is just like this, though, more hard to notice the change, as it’s more subtle and hard to tell. The difference is the when she’s singing the high notes in the song, it comes out more short and soft compared to the old one where she would sing the full high note in one breath + the ending vocalization just a wee bit shorter. Still don’t believe me? You can check the official music video for them. “Lover girl” is ESPECIALLY noticeable, as you can instantly tell the difference. So the that begs the question… WHY DID SHE CHANGE THEMM?? They were so good I’m actually crying😭 and this is probably for all her other songs too - though I wouldn’t know cause I haven’t heard that many songs by her… but like still
