I have been taking care of my grandparents (93 and 79) for the last 2 years. My aunts have atarted helping and essentially relieved me of duty and I decided to move across the country to LA. Just as I decide to pick up and move 2500 miles away, this little lady decided I needed a new companion. Still deciding if I bring her with or leave her here (with family).
She's been sleeping on my hood of my car on and off for about a year. I suspect she was abandoned..she had a collar with a bell that was matted into her fur and falling apart simultaneously. Yesterday she approached with very loud meows but wouldn't let me within 5 feet without hisses and growls. This went on all day and night and culminated with me running away from her after her last hiss with her ears pinned. First thing this morning I open the door and she's laying on a chair. Comes up and hops in my lap. The rest is history. She's the sweetest girl and definitely is easy to love.
I named her Donna after my grandma's best friend who passed away a few years ago, because the chair she chose as hers was Donna's spot. It took my grandma all of 5 minutes to go from shoo-ing her to getting her a bed and box and food. I'll probably leave her with my grandma as an outdoor friend.
Vet visit in the AM. Hope all is well with her.
