I just got a pair of custom Bont shoes (after spending years trying other shoes with no success). However, the cleat mounting area on both shoes is curved such that the rear of the cleats is at a different angle than the front (see pic).

This results in a super sketchy feeling while pedaling, especially when putting out a lot of power (feeling is like I’m on the verge of clipping out).

Bont customer service has also been unresponsive to messages and emails as well.

I’m not sure what to do, as I’ve never had another pair of shoes that did this. Has anyone experienced this or know what to do? Is it possible to shim just the rear left of the cleat, or would that just create a failure risk.
