Question regarding I-485 Employment Section: Volunteer Work & Student Status
Hello! I am currently filing my I-485 (Green Card through marriage) and I’m confused about the Employment and Education section.
- I am currently on OPT and working as a volunteer (unpaid). The form asks for the 'source of financial support' if unemployed. Since I’m a volunteer, I don't get paid—do I need to list a source of income here even though I'm 'working'?
- What about periods where I was only a student and not working at all? Do I still need to provide the source of financial support for those years as well?
I’m trying to make sure I don't leave anything blank that might cause any problem. I’d love to hear how others filled this out! Thank you!
