Hello Everyone,
I am currently interviewing for public high schools in Brooklyn and trying to figure out which salary step I might end up at.
I followed the salary schedule for 2026 on UFT.org, and I think I will be placed at MA + C2 + PD.
I have been teaching for 7 years full-time at public schools in California (first two years on an emergency credential). I currently have 70 credits (master's included). Will they accept my first two years of teaching on an emergency teaching credential? The difference between salary steps 5a, 7a, and 8a is VERY different. I am hoping I am placed at 8a MA + c2 + PD... Am I way off? Am I reading the salary schedule incorrectly? Any insight will be appreciated!! much love!
*My credential has already been transferred, and I was issued the ELA initial certificate last month*
