Hi all, I recently purchased an S30 Pro, and am impressed by the results, but I want to go down the EQ Mount route to see if I can improve things. I have the tripod, EQ wedge and dovetail adapter plate for the scope, (all of which I have seen as recommended items). However, when I connect everything up, the S30 on/off switch is not facing upwards, it's sideways. There are no ways I can see to manually adjust any of the adapters, this is just how it is when everything's tightened. The dovetail plate runs side to side on the bottom of the scope, not front to back.
Is there a way for me to manually adjust the S30's AZ axis so that I can get the orientation set up correctly? I mean, it's this axis which moves during tracking, so I just need to rotate it manually by about 90 degrees to change the default position. Perhaps this is something that'll happen as part of the calibration. It's just that all instructions say to start by getting the on/off switch facing upwards, and I can't even do that.
