I had bariatric surgery in March and the diet recommendations from the clinic is very meat heavy. To where I’m still not cleared for low carb vegetables until the end of June. Going forward they recommend animal protein as the primary source of calories, or 75/25 meat + low carb vegetables. Complex carbs not at all until goal weight (which is shocking because I’ve been seeing people eat crackers and pieces of bread in the early post op stages but I’m getting off track).

Except for the premier protein shakes, I’ve only had animal proteins beginning on the liquid diet two months ago. I’d like to just stick with this for the rest of my life since this is what they recommend, not interested in the keto-fied version. However, I’m feeling overwhelmed with the typical influencers I see online pushing one or two meals a day because of the food volume.

I’d looking for advice on:

  1. My clinic emailed a recipe booklet and meal plans but use mostly chicken, tuna and turkey meats. There’s a disclaimer on swapping out for beef but warns it could cause nausea with the high fat content and to stay with lean ground beef. Long term, has anyone dealt with that? I did have half a thin sliced beef patty from private selection and it didn’t bother me (worried I was already pushing it).

  2. Any YouTuber recommendations that have had weight loss surgery and use carnivore diet?

Thank you.
