Hey, just looking for some reassurance or if anyone’s had a similar experience.
I had a perianal abscess drained about a month ago. Everything went pretty standard — they drained it, packed it, and I went through the whole healing process. Pain went away pretty quickly after the procedure and I haven’t had any pain since.
The thing is, I’ve still got a small raised red bump where the wound was. It doesn’t hurt at all, no swelling underneath, no real pus or anything major — just looks like a bit of tissue that hasn’t flattened yet. It might bleed a little if irritated but otherwise feels fine.
I was told there was no fistula or anything like that, so it was just a simple abscess.
I guess I’m just a bit worried that it hasn’t fully flattened out yet and wondering if that’s normal or if I should be concerned about it not healing properly or coming back.
Has anyone else had this? Did it eventually go away on its own or did you need to get it treated again?
