What has been the top piece of advice you've gotten that's had the most impact for handling your dog?

I've found one of the most valuable cues is stepping on a flat colar/ leash to bring my pup to more submission and less of a dominant stance. Of course I can only do this because she's 60 pounds and im 130, haha.
