over the weekend my dog (male, neutered, mastiff/rottie mix, 5 years old, 110 lbs) got into a porcupine. the vets removed almost all of the quills but today we found one still in his foot. it is obviously bothering him because he is favouring his other leg, even though they had to stitch that shoulder up. it is right above his paw pad so he is not stepping on it while walking, but i am wondering what to do about it. there is not enough of it sticking out that i can pull it right out but i also worry about it burying deeper into his foot. should we take him back to the vet or let it do its own thing til we can pull it out?
