Hi, i am a doctor who built an app called It Will Pass. It is a toolkit for those who experience anxiety or panic attacks, i built simple but solid exercises that helped also me in recent years as i deal with panic attacks after working in ER. App has good visual themes, hand-picked sounds(i paid 30 dollars for them not much but still they are not stock sounds), and a lot of features my competitors have like mood tracking, apple health integration ext.
But i had a view on my head: An anxiety companion app should not be like a customer binding platform, a user should use it as they need but then should leave-delete the app and hopefully dont need it again, and i think this is a problem for a lot of anxiety focused app right now: they always tend to be a full-course wellness platform and they dont have an end to their concept. So i designed every step of the app according to this vision: no-account needed, no external data tracking- everything stays on user's device and of course a ONE-TIME purchase for life(via in-app purchase after trying one of the exercises on the app).
When i was thinking about pricing i used ai to make a deep research on market and actually discussed with it the pricing, it said it should be at least 14.99 dollars because it is a lifetime purchase and because it is made by a real doctor. I was shocked actually. I was thinking of doing it 1.99 dollars. It insisted that that would backfire and people would see the app may be useless or just a scam. I kinda thought it may be right so i put a 4.99 dollar price-tag for lifetime(also added 7.99 for same unlock but extra for tip option), when looking at my competitors subscription plans it is very logical to pay that i think, and of course i would like a profit but also i want to stand at a reasonable place for users.
here is the app if you wanna check What do you think about this i really wanna hear from this community? Was AI right? what is your experience if you have an app online?
