I have a sony A6400. I’m shooting with the 16-50mm and 55-210mm kit lenses, but I feel like I could get a little more out of my shots with some extra reach and (maybe?) better quality.

For reference, I like to do motorsports and want to get into street photography and try some amateur video too. I’ve included a photo I took at my last race with the 55-210mm on my old A6000. I’m not too disappointed with the sharpness, but I definitely don’t want to decrease the quality from here.

So the burning question is:

Would the Tamron 18-300mm be a good upgrade from these kit lenses, or if not what are some budget alternatives to cover this range? As a hobbyist/broke uni student, i don’t want to spend more than $700-$800 AUD.
