Hi all, quick question.

Viewed a newly refurbished house in Dublin 15 (€1050, basically living alone). It’s very clean and new, but BER is D2 and heating is gas. Landlord said avg bill ~€100 and not to run heating more than ~2 hours/day.

I don’t like the cold and I’m used to having heating on all the time. I was thinking of using a portable electric heater instead (or alongside gas).

Is that actually cheaper or a bad idea? And generally, how uncomfortable is a D2 house in winter?

Would appreciate real experiences.
