So after starting Wegovy in September 2025, I initially had some good weight loss, but then I was FINALLY approved for much needed knee surgeries which had me on bed rest off and on through Feb 2026 and any progress I'd made was pretty much plateaued due to lack of ability to be active. Anyhow, now that I am decently healed and able to be active again, the weight seems to be melting off! So while disappointed it's not as much as I'd hoped to lose by now when I first started last year, I'm just glad to finally be making progress again and be consistently weighing in under 200lbs for the first time in 3yrs. Current total weight loss=20lbs, starting weight=216, current weight=196, current dose 1.7

So this is a dumpster find from about 10yrs ago that worked until my dog chewed the cord up 4yrs ago. When I first found it, the only issue it had was the snap point for the hose had gotten stuck inside the hard hose handle and broken off (assuming this is why it was tossed). I'm so short I used the handle of the dust bin to maneuver it and it worked great 😂. I always wanted to do a full refurb on it though and now that it's been sitting awhile some of the soft plastic parts have degraded and need replacement. This thing is a BEAST, I have never used another vacuum that had the suction power of this unit, including vintage Kirby and newer Dyson machines, but it is also heavy as hell so I used to use this for deep cleaning carpet and upholstery and I had a Dyson DC41 as my daily go-to, hence not being in a rush to work on it. Now though I'm losing my mind living in a carpeted home with dogs and cats and our Shark has been breaking down. Between buying new or refurbing "the beast", refurb is both more cost effective and it's just a better machine IMO.

Parts cost breakdown-

Power cord: $20

Internal hose: $10 (had to get a DC14 hose and will need to get a little creative with it)

Main hose: $25

The power cord has been replaced and it powered right up! Also used super glue to connect the broken hose holder back on and filled the honey comb back near the break with epoxy to add strength. Letting cure for 24hrs before testing.

Game plan now is replace the hoses and check the suction power and that everything works/note what doesn't. Then start disassembling for deep cleaning. IDEALLY, it just needs a deep clean after the hose replacements 🤞

Super excited to bring this dinosaur back to the land of the living. IMO Dyson peaked 2009-2015 and machines from this period were made to LAST and are some of the best vacuums available.
