Prac advice: Formulaic lesson plans
Hey guys! I’m in my final year of my secondary education degree (English is my teaching area) and I’ve been lucky enough to find myself at a great school for prac. I feel very supported, and because of that I want to try new things in the classroom to figure out my teaching style and my students’ learning styles a little more. However, I can’t seem to get out of the “I do-we do-you do” structure when I plan. I have had ideas for other lessons, but I’m not super confident about my ability to execute them as I’ve never tried.
While the lessons so far have been good, I’d like some tips on how to make them less formulaic and more dynamic. At the moment, I can feel myself getting into a rut. These are good kids and I want to do something a little more interesting for them. Any advice would be lovely. Thanks guys!
