My parents live in Ryde and they are in their late 60s. They quite like the convenience that the area has to offer, like good access to Top Ryde and Macquarie shopping centres, but don’t seem to get used to the heavy traffic.
They are planning to move to somewhere else with a budget of ~3.5 mil and they’re looking for a house of ~500 sqm (3-4 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms at least) in a quite, leafy area yet within ~600m walking distance to train/Metro station (or at least good bus connections to the nearest train/Metro station). They don’t want to go too far west or south. For them, anything west of Strathfield/Concord West might be too far west and anything south of Earlwood might be too far south. I thought of Thornleigh and they actually quite like the area so bought an investment property there years ago. But they don’t want both their properties to be in the same area.
They generally have these impressions on the suburbs I mentioned to them:
- Burwood/Strathfield: too busy & crowded
- Enmore/Marrickville: too hipter-ish for them
- Gladesville/Lane Cove: ticks all the boxes except for train connectivity
- Chatswood: can’t afford
Any ideas/suggestions?
