I know a lot of people probably have a similar issue but I just wondered if anyone had any info that might help.
I applied for my first time passport in December 2025 mere days after getting my FBR certificate. Sent off all the documents (originals not copies) and all progressed to the “Processing Application” stage. It sat there for 7 weeks (3 weeks past the estimated date) with no change. I called them and asked if anything was wrong, they said they don’t know. And then 2 days later they emailed to say my witness (uni lecturer) never answered the phone (🙄) and to resubmit.

So I resubmitted the forms within 2 weeks and used a pharmacist. Sent it all off and they said it’d take 3 weeks. It’s now been 5 weeks since they logged in the documents again and I’ve heard nothing.

I know you can’t expedite it but I am kinda counting on this passport in order to do my study abroad year in Sweden starting in August 2026 so I’m just anxious to get the passport details so I can let the Swedish uni know etc etc.

Is it worth calling to ask again in the hopes that moves something? Or would I just be that annoying guy who calls about questions they can’t answer. Any help or similar experiences are appreciated 🙏
