Advice for a new director

Hi everyone,

I’ve worked in Early Childhood Education for well over a decade and have only recently stepped into a director role. As I transition into this position, I’ve been making an effort to stay approachable, visible, and supportive for both families and staff.

Since I’m still new to leadership in this capacity, I’d genuinely love to hear feedback from families, parents, guardians, and fellow ECE professionals. What qualities do you value most in a director? What actions, attitudes, or approaches make a meaningful difference to you? What stands out in a strong leader within an ECE setting? What di you hope to see in a director?

Thank you!
