What would you do next? Any advice would be appreciated!
2015 Yamaha MT-07
I went out riding and looking back on footage, it sounded like a horrible engine knock which sounded even worse when decelerating. Stopped and found there was either no/ miniscule engine oil. After getting it towed home and topping up the oil this is now what it sounds like.
Every mechanic I've spoken to has said to just replace the engine and said it's not cost effective cracking the engine open and doing a repair job. Found metallic shavings in the oil but haven't really dug any deeper :/
This is obviously just a loud ticking and google has suggested; rod bearings, cam chain tensioner (seems fine as I checked), valve clearance upon many other things. Likely to be some complications depending on the issue, i imagine.
What do you think is the issue here and are there any fairly easy tests to check?
Looking into options as I type this but if the engine is ruined, I don't see any harm in cracking it open myself and learning a few things
