Academic Coffee + Conversation (Dublin)

Hey all,

Curious to find people who are doing postgraduate study or working in academia that would like to grab a coffee and chat in Dublin City Centre.

Are you teaching in third level? Or are you doing an MA or a PhD?

If so, what is/was your dissertation about? Or what are your areas of research interest?

I have a PhD in Education and work in Initial Teacher Education, with a focus on foundations i.e. Sociology; Philosophy; Psychology etc.

I'd be really interested to hear from you - especially if you study or work in the humanities.

Feel free to reply below or send me a DM!

Ciao tutto,

I am a 34M academic and I would like to begin learning Italian for personal interest. I plan to register for an A1 course with the Italian Institute of Culture in June.

Are there any friendly Italians living in Dublin who would like to make an Irish friend and occasionally help to practice with pronunciation?

Ideally, it would be great to have conversations with people who are around my age or older.

I would be very interested to learn about your country and cultural customs. Happy to return the favour in the form of beer, coffee and good conversation!

Feel free to reply to this comment or send me a DM!

Hey all,

I am curious to find others across Ireland who enjoy thinking a bit too deeply about life, ethics, meaning, consciousness - all the fun stuff.

Whether you’ve studied philosophy or just like a good late night rabbit hole, i’d love to know what ideas interest you.

When did your interest begin and what do you like to think about now?

I'd love to hear from you!

Hey everyone,

Fairly new to Reddit and looking for people around the same age to catch a drink with in Dublin at a rock or metal bar (open to suggestions).

Summer is on the way and nothing beats a beer garden pint.

I am a fairly relaxed person who likes to have conversations about all things comedy, music and life in general.

Shoot me a message if you want to grab anytime while the sun is out!

Hey everyone,

New to the Reddit community. I'm 34 M based just outside of Drogheda. Straight and married. Usual story - drifted from school friends and now looking to meet some new interesting people with similar interests. Ideally, I would like to hang out with guys my own age who want to grab coffee, drinks or go to shows. Here is a little bit about me:

- I work in academia and like interesting conversations about anything relating to education; history; philosophy; psychology or sociology.

- Big into rock music and punk rock. I regularly go to shows in Dublin and festivals abroad.

- I love stand up comedy and regularly go to shows in Dublin. At the moment, I particularly like John Mulaney and Vittorio Angelone.

- I like to travel and visit new countries around Europe as often as I can.

- Hoping to become a psychotherapist in the next few years.

Are you interested in pints, laughter and existentialism? If so, I am your guy.

Send me a message and let's talk!
