Eddie grew up in South Philly idolizing the Eagles’ sideline mascot performances more than the actual game. He eventually got a low-level job as a stadium operations assistant at Lincoln Financial Field, where he became obsessed with the idea that the mascot wasn’t “aggressive enough” or “symbolically pure.”
After repeatedly being denied a chance to become part of the official mascot team—and allegedly being humiliated during a halftime fan event audition—Eddie snapped.
