Outbound email syncing into Salesforce gets messy fast

We cleaned up our outbound setup recently and one thing that surprised me was how messy the CRM side became.Emails logged twice, duplicate contacts, activities sitting under the wrong account, missing conversation history.It creates problems later because reporting gets unreliable and reps lose context.I'm curious how people structure this.Are you syncing everything automatically or keeping some activities separate?Feels like everyone talks about outbound efficiency, but CRM hygiene gets ignored until it becomes a problem.
