I was at the absolute final stage of a rental application, and I’m just gutted. I really thought we finally had the chance to move into a nicer home. We jumped through every single hoop, treating the whole process like a high-stakes job interview, handing over countless documents, providing our current rental rate, and sharing bank statements, pay stubs, and job offer letters.
After all that invasive background checking, I was just told the owners "moved forward with another applicant."
I keep seeing the news reports that rents have dropped across the Metro area and vacancy rates are supposedly the highest they've been in years. But honestly, it feels like those drops are only applying to small apartments. Trying to find a decent, larger house still feels like a hyper-competitive, exhausting process.
If anyone has any leads, please share them! Here is what we’re looking for:
Size: 3+ bedrooms, 2+ bathrooms (open to houses with more rooms too!).
Location: Ideally around the Vancouver or burnaby area.
About Us: We can provide excellent references. We’re just looking for a nice place we can call home, and we will take care of it just like a homeowner would.
Please DM me if you know of a reasonable landlord or an upcoming vacancy. Thank you!
