We reached Leh on 21st September 2025 and stayed for two days. The vibe on 21st and 22nd was actually great we even attended the Ladakh Festival. Cultural performances, traditional attire, local energy. the town felt alive and vibrant.
But alongside that, locals were quietly mentioning that a protest might happen soon. You could sense something building beneath the celebrations.
On the morning of 23rd September, we left Leh around 6 AM before anything started. Best decision.Once we hit the roads, it was unreal.
Empty roads. No tourist rush. No traffic lines. Just cold morning air, golden mountains, and complete silence. It felt like we had Ladakh to ourselves. No crowds at viewpoints. Just wind noise inside the helmet and endless scenery ahead.
Later we got the news that protests and restrictions had started in Leh.
Timing really matters.
Ladakh that week showed two completely different moods celebration and silence. And somehow, we experienced both.
Anyone else ever escaped a situation just in time during a ride?
