so i got an iud last tuesday, it is currently wednesday. i didn’t feel the iud go in at all(slight brag😮‍💨) i went home and layed in bed the rest of the day with some pretty intense cramps. i was fine because i knew that was normal. next day i have zero pain and zero spotting. i was so impressed bc i thought i would have atleast a few days of cramps and spotting. day three rolls around and i am BED BOUND. i’m talking pain like edward scissor hands is clawing my uterus and lower back. i’m dizzy and disheveled. i have endometriosis so i’m used to awful cramps but this was next level. but since i was only on day 3 i told myself this was normal. on monday nothing had changed and i actually had to call out of work it was so bad. so i made an appointment to go back to the gynecologist today. when i got there i was getting my ultra sound just to see how it was sitting in me and it actually had completely turned sideways and was sitting extremely low😭 i was happy bc that meant i wasn’t being dramatic but also like WHAT THE HELL. so my doctor told me that this actually only happens to 3% of women?!? we decided to put in a new one. i didn’t feel it come out and this hoe giggled saying i could’ve sneezed it out😔 i DID feel the new one going in and it was worse bc i also had an ultrasound being done at the same time so they could be 100% sure it was in the right place. i am now feeling SO SO SO much better. the moral of this story is trust your gut! yes i waited the pain out but i knew it had to be more than my uterus getting used to a foreign object. also it wasn’t anyone’s fault that the first IUD didn’t work out, just a good old case of bad luck!
